John 19: 23-24 NRSV
When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his clothes and divided them into four parts, one for each soldier. They also took his tunic; now the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece from the top. So they said to one another, ‘Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to see who will get it.’ This was to fulfill what the scripture says, ‘They divided my clothes among themselves, and for my clothing they cast lots.’
We adore you O ‘Christ and we bless you because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world.
Consider that Christ is praying in silence to His Father in Heaven. His outer garments are removed. He is vulnerable and naked in front of His enemies.
O’Lord when we are vulnerable, naked and alone, when we seem surrounded by enemies may we remember this station where you are praying and clinging to your Father in Heaven. Place us into your pure and perfect Heart until the storm has passed. Amen.
